The Simpson’s first annual Treehouse of Horror was originally broadcast on October 25, 1990, and is the only one of the yearly episodes to actually take place in Bart’s treehouse despite subsequent titles.
This first offering finds Bart, Lisa and Maggie telling scary stories in Bart’s treehouse on Halloween night. Each story being a segment of the show. The fist story is that of the Simpson family moving into a haunted house complete with blood dripping walls, poltergeist activity and an Indian burial ground in the basement. The second segment deals with the Simpsons being abducted by some aliens that may or may not want to eat them. The finals story of the episode is a rather well done re-telling of Edgar Allen Poe’s, classic poem The Raven as narrated by the legendary James Earl Jones and re-enacted by Homer.
